Dogs and Cats

Rascal has adopted Cuddles, the cat, as his own. He carries her around and they both sleep together in the dog house.
Who says dogs and cats aren't friends!

Dress Up Days

Jessica loves to dress up and pretend. She is almost always either a princess or a mommy. Her baby dolls name is Taylor Thurman, named after her mother, Jessica Taylor Thurman. Jessy loves to feed her, change her, read her stories and just about anything a good little mommy does. When I came into the living room she was rocking Taylor and singing, "Jesus is Magical."
She comes up with interesting songs, I LOVE IT.

Wild Animal Park

Brayden, Jessica, and Isaac loved the hands on stuff at the Wild Animal Park. Isaac didn't want to hold still long enought to be in the picture. I can't find the pictures but they also got to feed the birds with cups of nectar. There is also one section of the park which is about 50 acres and it houses herds of African animals. It is huge and you ride a tram around it.  (Luckily there is a tram which takes you through the African portion) There was also a section of the park that was dedicated to jungle animals.  It seemed so much more like the animals natural habitat. It was different from any Zoo that we have been too.

The kids wanted to ride this carousel over and over. They had little seat belts on them so even Isaac got to ride one.

Upper Deck, USS Midway

USS Midway, Sleeping Quarters

The headphones served as a virtual guide.  As we walked through the ship there were que cards with a number and if you plugged that number into your headset, your private tour of that section would begin playing.

Behind us is the USS Midway.  This aircraft was retired a number of years ago but was recently brought to San Diego and it serves as a tourist attraction.

Sea World, Dolphin Show

The star of the show was a dolphin named named Dolly.  Jessica's prize doll at home is uniquely named "Dolly" so there was an instant connection when she heard them announce that "Dolly" would be performing.  Grandpa Thurman bought her a pink dolphin while we were there and she again uniquely named it "Dolly the Dolphin".

Going to Get Wet, Sea World '08

We bought Brent a rain coat at Sea World and sent him to sit close to the front with the kids in the Shamu show.  (They wanted to get wet) while Amanda, Michelle and Papa stayed up high enough to stay dry. What a good sport.

High Flying

Sea World, BIG JUMPING

Brayden and Sycora both wanted to try bunji jumping. They loved it. Brayden was a light weight so they would have to make him bounce on occasion but he didn't seem to mind.

Sea World, Sea Stars

Brayden and Jessica had a blast with their cousins.  They got to hold the Sea stars and other little sea creatures.

Feeding the Dolphins

Sea World, Feeding the Dolphins

For 5$ you could buy fish to feed to the dolphins.  Jessica out did her brother on this one. She had no problem touching and feeding them but Brayden was a little nervous and we couldn't get him to do it.

Paridise Point Resort, '08

This was a tower in the middle of the hotel Island. It had a spiral stair case that you could climb to the top and overlook the resort. You just had to be careful because once you got to the top it was covered in bird droppings.

Paridise Point meets Mission Bay.

On the left was the hotel rooms and on the right was mission bay. The resort was on an Island in the middle of Mission Bay and the only way off was over a bridge.

We got to the hotel at about 2:00pm and checked in then headed straight for the beach. The kids wanted to stay there and play until bedtime. They will still tell you that playing in the sand was one of their favorite parts of the trip.

Isaac, and the Beach

Isaac loved the beach. He would run to the water no mater how cold it was. He also loved to play with the beach toys in the sand.

Mission Bay, Behind our Hotel Room

I took this picture standing in our hotel room door right after we checked in. You can see the black fence in the back ground and right behind that was the hot tub and the main pool.

Finding fun in the winter

The Kids needed something fun to do during the winter time, so we put them in a gym class. They loved it and it got their energy out on someone besides mom.

Getting Started

Welcome to our blog page. We finally gave in and decided to join the rest of you. Of course this is mostly due to Heather Vest insisting that I get my pictures on a blog so she can check it constantly. We are excited to have a way to keep everyone up to date.
